How to get involved:

Your must be enrolled in an art class and be in grades 10-12. At the end of first quarter, each art teacher will recommend several top students for participation. The criteria for getting selected is:
-The student must be have at least a 90 average in art
-The students must be outstanding in terms of character and classroom cooperation
-The student must demonstrate interest and leadership in the art class

Once a student is recommended, then he or she must follow up to become an Inducted Member. The induction is a ceremony that takes place in May for all recommended members who completed requirements and maintained the 90 average in art throughout the year. In order to qualify for induction, the art student must complete 8 hours of volunteer work by April 1st. The type of volunteer work is determined by the art advisor each year. Some examples of activities to complete the ‘hours” are: assisting with events such as room clean up, painting, making signs and displays gallery help, hanging artwork in the hallways, working with the elementary art students on projects and assisting your art teacher with special projects.

The Induction is scheduled for May 11th, All existing members….Save the Date!

The induction ceremony is a two hour event that is held in the Little Theatre. At that time, there will be an art show featuring student artwork completed during the year. The art show is exhibited in our very own Christina Mazzitelli Gallery at Lawrence High School and is a wonderful and memorable event. Family and friends are invited (Students who are inducted must be must be in grades 10-12).*

*If there are students who want to get involved starting in grade nine, they may do the volunteer work under the supervision of their art teacher in special circumstances.
